Hotel - First off the Hotel is VERY outdated and needs to be updated. All the boating stuff is cute, but could definitely be toned down a bit. Rooms are overpriced for what you get. Restaurant - High prices, but decent food. They need to add some flavor/seasoning to a lot of their foods as it was a bit bland. Lots of weird things on the menu. Would like to see just a simple meal on there. Not greasy, which was good!

Restaurant only. Stopped due to exterior appeal and scenery. Beautiful view. I asked if there was outside seating and was shown to 3 tables on the patio. Within moments I was swarmed with smokers - it was just the smoke area, not intended for dining. Food was very bad. "Fresh" on this menu is clearly suspect. The 'tomato-cream' sauce was tomato sauce with milk in it. Overdone pasta, uniform sausage nuggets. Server was nice but clearly ill.

Such a let down.... The Lighthouse Inn is located on an amazing spot right on Lake Michigan. The restaurant, bar and meeting rooms all have an awesome overlook at the Lake. It also has a hotel attached so it should be a great place or destination for meal, a night out or perhaps to host a party or wedding. We were given a gift certificate as a Christmas Gift and were told good things about the place. To be honest my wife and I had not been here for at least 15 years, even though we live within 30 miles. Mainly because we have not heard a lot of about the place... Good or bad. The people who got us the gift however, told us that they had a great meal recently. (which turned out to be lunch). We entered on Thursday Night around 6:30pm. We were greeted by a hostess and our waitress. The waitress gave me two menus (weird) and told us we could sit anywhere we want. We walked into the dinning area to find NO ONE! We where the only guests in the restaurant the entire length of our meal! We chose seats that looked out over the lake. It was dark out, but you could still make out the ice stacks that had formed outside on the shore. In Summer, when it stays light out longer, I would imagine that this would be a choice seat! The menu was extensive, but nothing seemed to be something that would have been prepared fresh at the restaurant. The pictures looked like they were (professionally) clipped from a food web sight and made into a menu. Prices were reasonable. The meal started out great. The bread was warm and tasty, so was the soup. The Salad was also pretty good . It was the main courses that let us down. My whitefish was "fishy" tasting and my wife had Sole with what was supposed to be a white cream sauce. When it was delivered however, the fish was covered in brown gravy! It was not a pleasant combination, this gravy seemed much better suited for pork or beef.... Not fish! Because we were not sure if we misread the menu we didn't say anything to our waitress. (Our bad). But as we left we saw a copy of the menu and it clearly stated white sauce. Did they not have the sauce available? Did they have a misprint on the menu? May be another 15 years before I find out!

I have actually eaten here numerous times over the years and usually had a good experience. But last week I was there with a couple friends as we stayed in the area for a few days. The service was absolutely awful - we waited and waited, the waitress didn't come back to check on us and it took forever for our food to come. One friend had to return the soup it was so salty and she likes salt! The food was OK - nothing to write home about but OK. It was more the service that caused the 2 stars. I have always loved the view from here so that was good but I think the food has gone downhill as the years go by.

Stopped here for breakfast with family we were visiting before heading up to Door County. Server was very nice, got our food in a timely manner and it was good...not the best I've ever had, but good. Lovely lake view made this a nice farewell meal; loved Two Rivers!

Fortunately, my experience was much better than the previous reviewer. I guess all places have their issues. I went there because I love the area, and nothing beats a view of Lake Michigan while dining. I don't normally crave pasta dishes when I go out for dinner, but that's what I usually get here. Tonight was the Tuscan Chicken, which was excellent. I guess there were two small glitches.. My brother ordered a beer. They brought a bottle, but no glass, because they "were out of beer glasses". They brought one as soon as one was available. Mom had the broccoli stuffed chicken. One problem-- Not a chunk of broccoli to be found! Bottom line- 3 dinners, two beers and a cocktail, $55. I'd go back next week, though not everyone thinks a 1.75 hour ride to and from dinner is a great idea.

Get a new chef!!! (restaurant only review) Lighthouse Inn has so much potential and it lives up to very little. The location on the south side of Two Rivers is fantastic. Parking is ample. The view is gorgeous. The decor is... dated but not offensive. The food, however, is pretty bad. Where to begin? - The menu has some confusing elements. Unlike every other restaurant, the appetizers are located near the back instead of the front. - We ordered "fried cheese nuggets" which were fine. - There are no draft beers on the menu. I'm a craft beer drinker and this is Two Rivers so I wasn't expecting much but this still seems odd. - We ordered pasta with tomato creme sauce and sausage. The tomato creme sauce was pretty weak and looked like tomato sauce mixed with milk. The sausage looked, smelled, and tasted EXACTLY like the sausage one would find on a pizza (thus, I'm convinced that it was). Yuck. The pasta was quite overcooked. - We also ordered the crab stuffed sole. While not excellent, it wasn't terrible but the color of the sauce reminded me of gravy that comes from a powder packet. The size of vegetables were plain green and yellow beans and carrots. - I finished my beer and was never asked if I want another drink. - We ordered baked Alaska for a dessert, more for the novelty than anything. Although it arrived quickly, the meringue had barely seen a flame and thus, it was mostly raw egg whites. More yuck. The underlying cake was not particularly good but we each had about two bites before the meringue was too much to eat. Also, our server did not ask us if we wanted anything to go with the dessert (coffee, tea, etc.). With the right chef, I suspect lots of people would overlook the decor and flock to this place because the view is so excellent. I think if this place wanted to go fine dining, it could clean up. Unfortunately, it's not even adequate dining right now.

View was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. We got the chicken panini and a burger and we were so eager to eat, we forgot to take pictures. If there was one thing we didn't care for, it was having to pay an extra $2.50 for cheese and bacon on an already $9 burger. A little pricey but it was delicious! We would definitely return!

Also known as the Lakeview Restaurant.. Stumbled upon this restaurant. Obviously excellent views of the lake. Clean restaurant and bathrooms. Excellent service, food was also very good. The whitefish was excellent! We will be back again

This review is for the Lighthouse Inn Restaurant, not the Inn, and I have to say I am sad to see other negative reviews because our experience was quite delightful. Lighthouse Inn is not fancy, it is not pretentious and it is not creating 'foodie' foods. What I experienced was an incredibly kind server (she even gave us two, portioned plates when we split an entree), yummy cheese curds, good French onion soup, light and fresh perch (trust me, I know if it's been frozen) and a great view. I would stick with the fresh fish and local dishes. The prices were the best part; beer, entrees, appetizers and soup for four and we were still under $70! Cha-ching. In fact, we're going back this weekend with our in-laws. Tip: Two Rivers is the home to the ice cream sundae so be sure to order one up during your visit.

We had originally reserved a room for two nights but ended up only staying for one due to the following factors: 1. It was very humid in our room (more-so than it was outdoors) 2. The carpets and beds were damp to the touch 3. There was a strong musty odor in our room as well as the hallways (probably caused by the excess moisture mentioned in 1 & 2 above) 4. The mattresses were in very poor condition and seemed to be sloping toward the headboard. The upholstered chairs in the room were equally uncomfortable (and also damp). 5. The bathroom appeared to be dirty and the shower fixtures seemed on the verge of breaking. 6. 2 hours after we checked-in, management gave another family staying at the hotel keys to our room. A woman and her two children (through no fault of their own of course) walked into our room as my wife and I were trying to put our 3 month old son to bed. In short the experience was horrendous, and the motel is absolutely disgusting. We would have slept in our car for the night if we didn't have a baby with us. Avoid this place at all cost.

Very poor service. Food quality is terrible. Only plus is they are one of few open on Monday in Two Rivers and has a beautiful view of the lake.

We stopped at the restaurant because of its location. The scenery is beautiful but the food was horrible. I ordered the "fresh" perch, which turned out to be tasteless and clearly frozen. The coleslaw was likewise flavorless, mushy and watery. My husband ordered the special, which was beef tips and mashed potatoes. He said it was like eating "old people food." The service was friendly but the food was beyond bad. I would not return.

My experience is based on staying one night in one of the rooms. We found this place to be the best lodging option for us traveling with 2 small kids. We got a lakeside room, which was clean and up to standards of any hotel chain. They also have a small private beach, which was nice to let the kids run out on in the morning when we were getting ready to leave. They also have a pool, which we didn't use, but we did get some breakfast in the restaurant area, which was pretty nice room actually, and the food was good standard diner quality. The staff seemed to be friendly and accommodating.

My wife and I celebrated the New Year at the Lighthouse Inn and had quite a disappointing time. We booked a room with a Queen bed and received a double. When talking to the front desk about this, we were told that it was a "Hotel Queen," which is smaller than a traditional Queen. We've stayed in quite a few hotels, and I've never heard of this, and still, while further researching it, have found nothing on a "Hotel Queen" size bed. After settling with our smaller than expected bed, we enjoyed the view of the lake from our room for a bit and decided to go to the restaurant for drinks and dinner. We were told that our table (that we had reservations for) wasn't quite ready, so we went to the bar to have a quick drink before dining. Our reservation time came an went with nobody letting us know that our table was ready. After some time, I went to check on it, and the host replied with "Oh yeah.... I can seat you now." I went to back to the bar to get my wife and then we were seated. In a dining room that was barely more than half full we the two of us were given a table for four situated closest to the kitchen and restaurant entrance. Not the ideal situation. I looked and saw some more available seats, and asked if we could be moved to a better location, I was quickly told that the rest of the tables were reserved. Upon further inspection, I noticed that some of the "reserved" tables had coffee cups set on them. It turns out that these were prepped for breakfast already, and were not reserved, so we sat at our drafty, high traffic table, so that the restaurant staff would not have to clean a smaller table for the convenience and enjoyment of their guests. We once again settled, and when our dinner came, our steamed vegetables were cold. We watched as other diners enjoyed complimentary warm bread which wasn't brought to us until we asked for it. and even then was served cold. The server only returned twice to check on us, and our water was never refilled. We both got the special which was crab and shrimp stuffed lobster. It was good, but being the most expensive thing on the menu, it's "okay" taste didn't really remedy the rest of the evening. We vocalized our complaints with our server, not raising a fuss, but with the money we were spending at the establishment, we wanted to get what we paid for and have a nice evening. The server apologized and said she would get the manager. However, we didn't speak with the manager, instead the server came back giving ten dollars off our bill and a coupon for a percentage off breakfast in the morning. We were disappointed the manager couldn't be bothered to see us. There was little effort here by the staff. Management should have had the common courtesy to address the concerns of its guests. We were given the excuse that it was New Years and it was busy, but the restaurant was emptying out by this time, and the staff appeared more interested in getting done with work and getting on with their night than being there for their customers. We have gone to the Lighthouse Inn in the past for New Years and have had wonderful stays. But through the years, it seems they have lost their way. The total lack of care from the staff for their guests' comfort will make this our last visit to this establishment. A disappointing New Years celebration to say the least.

Having travelled from Baltimore and very tired, Hubby having had back surgery thought a visit to his parents was in order. So that being said they met us at the airport to take us to their place in Door County. We stopped a their suggestion and also taking a cranky tired husband in tow., I felt this was a great Idea. The place looked busy BUT there was a wedding going on upstairs. We all ordered the fish. ONE HOUR later we were still waiting for the fish. I hear that the white fish is fresh in Wisconsin, but to let us wait while they go fishing is crazy!!! We did get our side salad. There was a party of 9 that came in before us BUT got served before us. I went to the reception and told them that we needed to leave. We still had a couple of hours to travel. They said it will be here and sure enough true to their word it did arrive..COLD!! my fish was cold, not only now was there a cranky husband but also a cranky wife!!! The manageress came and the first word were not "hi how are you?" but Whats wrong?? Scuse me but where is the customer service??? after I explained we had waited an hour and mine was cold she said"I will go to the kitchen and will be back" Back when??? never saw her again. The waitress came and said I can do u a new one it will take 8 minutes...if now it can take 8 minutes, I could have had 7 dinners in the time I had waited. I said "no thank you" they took $6.00 off the bill. This was not what I wanted and for you of those that know me, know that I am "IN THE TRADE" so please don't tell me that the 9 top had to be served first... I have worked with better servers that could run circles round this "so called manageress". Customer service is a big fat ZERO.
